What is Emirates NBD?
Emirates NBD, formerly the National Bank of Dubai (NBD), was founded on June 19, 1963, by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the then-ruler of Dubai, as the city’s first national bank. On March 6, 2007, NBD merged with Emirates Bank International (EBI) to become Emirates NBD. The company’s shares were officially listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) on October 16, 2007.
As of December 31, 2020, Emirates NBD reported total assets of AED 698 billion, reserves of AED 464 billion, total revenue of AED 23.21 billion, and a net profit of AED 7 billion.
